Master’s Programs Career Outcomes
Peabody’s master’s programs prepare students to achieve in great ways. Just some of our recent success stories include:
- Joshua Goldman, M.Ed.’02, elementary education, created the Succeeding with Reading program for at-risk students in St. Louis.
- Amanda Peltz, M.Ed.’06, community development action, is executive director of the Autism Society of Middle Tennessee, serving 4,000 families.
- Sarah Lawton Rogers, M.Ed.’05, organizational leadership, received a position with Deloitte Counsulting, in Irving, Texas.
- Elizabeth Melnikoff, M.Ed.’05, child studies, is a child life specialist at the Harvard Joslin Diabetes Center, in Boston, Mass.
- Erika Andersen, M.Ed.’00, special education with emphasis in visual disabilities. She is a clinical low vision specialist and teacher of students with visual impairments at The University of Houston, College of Optometry. Since gaining her M.Ed., she has also added certification as a certified low vision therapist.
- Julie Heinitsh, M.Ed.’02, higher education administration, is assistant vice chancellor for development at the University of North Carolina-Asheville.
Licensure and Certification
- In recent years our teacher licensure graduates have gone to teach in 45 states and nearly 30 foreign countries.
- Teacher licensure is available in elementary, secondary and special education.
- Our major in Human Development Counseling prepares graduates for licensure as a school counselors or certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor (with additional coursework).
