Team Synergy and Interpersonal Connection
Professor Davis serves as the director of internships for the HOD program. Her areas of interest include team and organizational learning processes, organizational development and change management, and leadership and character development. She is currently researching leadership mental models and exploring leadership development methods with the power to change deeply held ineffective models. Professor Davis serves on several campus committees.
Professor Davis came to Vanderbilt from AEGON USA, where she was the Organizational Development and Training Manager. She also has many years of experience as an organizational development consultant, specializing in team development and strategic planning. Her experience in the field and thorough knowledge of the internship process has helped to develop and expand the course curriculum.
After many years, Professor Davis recently retired from the Air National Guard where she was serving as an Intelligence Commander. She also spent 7 years as the Director of Curriculum for the Air National Guard's Officer's Training School, where she gained valuable experience designing and delivering intense leadership development programs using innovative learning techniques. She is a graduate of the Air War College and was occasionally pulled away from her position at Vanderbilt and deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), Operation Noble Eagle (Homeland Defense) and Coronet Nighthawk (counter-drug).
