An Interview with Dean Camilla Benbow - Shaping future educators
Currently the HOD program offers internship opportunities in six U.S. cities—Atlanta, Chicago, Nashville, New York City, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. These off-campus programs provide faculty-led learning activities to reinforce HOD core competencies in a supportive environment. Each of the approved cities offers opportunities in multiple fields.
However, if a student is offered a unique opportunity in other cities or countries, the internship staff will give these special considerations. To be considered for these experiences, students should complete the requirements outlined on the last page of the Internship Application by the distance learning application deadline. Student must be able to demonstrate that the internship will provide a unique learning opportunity (which cannot be obtained in one of our internship cities), and that they will have the maturity to complete the coursework in an unstructured and unsupported environment. The application and its collateral materials will be reviewed by the internship office to determine if the opportunity will provide adequate learning. Opportunities for Distance Learning Internships are limited and not guaranteed.
