New Peabody graduates fill teaching roles in Nashville’s lowest-performing middle schools
Commencement 2012 Recap
The Independent School Leadership Institute is an intensive one-week experience designed for individuals and teams who lead or aspire to lead independent schools. The institute will benefit members of an administrative team who are responsible for providing leadership within various domains of independent school life. Additionally, participants will enhance their ability to make choices for their schools grounded in theory and supported by data.
Each year the sessions presented at the institute are updated and several topics are added. Topics covered during ISL 2011 include: Social Media Tools for School Teachers, Innovative Forms of Faculty Compensation, Service Learning, Leadership and Strategic Thinking, Economic Influences on Admissions, Strengths and Challenges of Independent Schools.
The institute's design is anchored intellectually in the notion that human learning is central to all organizations, and that it may be examined and enhanced through multiple lenses including: social, financial, and political capital; organizational dynamics; leadership; instruction; curriculum; and decision analyses.
"The wide ranges in the group and the group dynamics really helped make it a great program." - ISL Summer Fellow 2010
