Professor Savage's research is grounded in adult development, psychology, and organizational behavior theory. Her research foci include the consulting relationship and roles s they relate to the practice of consulting, the career development of individuals in transition including those who are graduated, promoted, layed off, or terminated; and the development of adults in the workplace particularly in the areas of citical competencies, coaching as a developmental tool, and organizational outcomes from human capital development. She is particularly concerned with use of coaching in professional sevice organizations; program evaluation techniques that focus on job embeddedness and engagement; consulting outcomes from individual and small consultancies; and career planning strategies for graduate students.
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Professor Savage is a faculty member in the department of Leadership, Policy, & Organizations and holds an administrative appointment as Director of the Peabody Career Development Office.
Savage also serves as the Director of Graduate Studies for the Organizational Leadership and Human Resource Development programs. She currently teaches classes in program evaluaton and consultation skills at the graduate level as well as teaching Human Resource Management for undergraduates in the Human & Organizational Development major. Professor Savage directs the internship experience for graduate students in the Organizational Leadership and Human Resource Development programs.
