Research Focus
My research focuses on citizen participation in urban and neighborhood planning, urban and environmental policy, and community development. I am interested in how communities engage in planning and development of the built environment at multiple levels, how various constituency groups participate and define participation in these processes, and how to facilitate effective and authentic participation. I am particularly interested in the intersection of policy, participation, and the built environment, and how community development and social/environmental justice can be facilitated through this interaction.
