As a part of the Peabody Dean's Office, the International Affairs Office works to increase outreach and coordination within the college and externally to achieve the following objectives:
- Build a platform upon which knowledge in teaching, learning and educational leadership are shared and advanced in a global context
- Facilitate research collaborations with partnering international institutions
- Support Peabody scholars and students with assistance for academic and cultural learning
- Coordinate with the Vanderbilt International Office for cross-university initiatives

We are happy to report grant funding from the U.S. State Department for two new international programs.
- The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, through the Institute of International Education
Funding for 2009-2010 for eight Humphrey Fellows (from Latin America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Oceania and Asia ) nominated by U.S. Embassies and Fulbright Commissions for 10 months of non-degree study and professional development in the U.S.
- The Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching Program, through the Academy for Educational Development
Funding for 12 recipients of Fulbright Distinguished Teacher awards (from Argentina, Finland, India, Israel, Singapore, and South Africa) to participate in a non-credit semester-long program in fall 2009.
- Vanderbilt University Welcomes Edmund S. Muskie Fellows for 2009
Two Muskie Fellows will participate in the International Education Program Management master's program beginning this fall.
